Do you charge for an estimate?
No. We will require a fee in some situations, but you will be informed if a payment is necessary before arrival.
What payment methods are accepted?
Cash, Checks, Credit Cards, and Money Orders
Do you have samples of wood?
No. But we do have wood suppliers who offer samples.
Can laminate flooring be installed over existing flooring?
A feature of a floating floor is installed over some existing flooring materials. When we review your wood floors for an estimate, we can determine if this is an appropriate technique.
How do I prepare for the installation or sanding?
Everything should be moved out of the work area before our arrival, depending on the size of your project. It would help if you planned on being out of the house during the coating process for 3-4 days.
When can I walk on it after completion?
You can walk on the floor the following day (socks only for a few days). Light traffic for the first seven days. No vacuuming or cleaning products. Please keep pets off the floor if possible. We recommend that furniture stays off the floor for at least 48 hours after the final coat. When placing furniture and items on the floor, please do no dragging or sliding (even the "hardwood safe" sliders are not recommended). Do not put down area rugs for seven days after completion while the finish is curing.
Do you dispose of old products?
We will dispose of old flooring materials for an additional fee.
What happens with furniture and appliances?
The customer is responsible for moving furniture and appliances to the hardwood areas. Most people will store it in their garage while hardwood floor installation or restoration occurs.
Does the new hardwood flooring need to acclimate?
If your hardwood flooring project includes wood floor installation, we will deliver your flooring the week before installation. Hardwood must be stored inside the home (not the garage). Acclimation is required to adjust the new hardwood floor moisture content to your home’s relative humidity.
